Virtue of Traweeh prayer

Introduction

Traweeh prayer is a voluntary prayer that is performed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan. It is a special prayer that is performed after the obligatory Isha prayer and consists of a series of 20 units (rakaat) of prayer. The word "traweeh" is derived from the Arabic word "tarawih," which means to rest and take a break.

The virtue of Traweeh prayer is immense and has been highlighted in many traditions and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Here are some of the virtues of Traweeh prayer:

  1. A means of earning reward: Traweeh prayer is a voluntary prayer that is performed during the month of Ramadan, which is a blessed month. Therefore, performing Traweeh prayer is a means of earning reward from Allah (SWT).

  1. A means of getting closer to Allah: The purpose of prayer is to establish a connection with Allah (SWT). Traweeh prayer is an opportunity to spend more time in prayer and worship, which helps to get closer to Allah (SWT).

  1. A means of seeking forgiveness: During Traweeh prayer, Muslims recite Quranic verses and engage in worship. This is an opportunity to seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT) for sins committed knowingly or unknowingly.

  1. A means of strengthening faith: Traweeh prayer is an excellent opportunity to strengthen one's faith and increase one's knowledge of Islam. This is because Muslims recite Quranic verses and engage in worship, which helps to deepen their understanding and strengthen their faith.

  1. A means of seeking blessings: Traweeh prayer is a means of seeking Allah's blessings and favors. Muslims pray for their well-being and seek blessings for their families and loved ones.
